Kate Middleton has undoubtedly turned a huge fan of Alexander McQueen. The Duchess of Cambridge looked elegant in a knee length beige lace dress by Sarah Burton for McQueen for the Queen's thanksgiving service at St Paul's cathedral.

It was complemented with a ribbon belt around her thin waist adding to the simplicity. Kate completed her look with floral headgear by Jane Taylor, a pink silk clutch bag from Prada, drop pearl earrings and her signature nude LK Bennett heels. It is her third Alexander McQueen outfit in a row. Kate chose a vibrant red Alexander McQueen creation adding on with a sleek silver bracelet and a maritime-themed brooch featuring two silver dolphins for the Queen's jubilee pageant on the River Thames, on Sunday. This frock, previously worn by reality star Kim Kardashian and X factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos, was such a huge hit that it reportedly got sold out on fashion websites. During the diamond jubilee concert, she opted for a £120 Whistles' Bella bodycon dress in multipetal print with a McQueen blazer.

The world would not have forgotten the stunning wedding gown worn by the 30-year-old a year ago which was also a McQueen dress. She has shown her styles in high-street and high-end fashion too. 

As is the trend, any brand that Kate endorses experiences high sales and is famously dubbed the Kate effect. So was the case with Whistles and Alexander McQueen.

"Previous public appearances by the duchess have caused a fashion frenzy as women flock to emulate her style. The phenomenon has seen numerous outfits sell out within minutes," the Daily Mail reports.

Today is the final day for the four-day-long celebrations, marking the Queen's 60 years on the throne with hundreds of well-wishers outside the cathedral ahead of today's service. The sermon was given by The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams.
