Footage from the Laundromat surveillance camera shows the toddler being put into the washing machine while the door automatically locked and started to cycle. An employee rushed to the child's rescue by disabling the machine, but it still took some time to get the child out.
The video of the incident went viral immediately and people speculated that the subjects of the video were the child's parents, instead of his babysitters.
The toddler's mother, Saskia David, didn't even know about the incident until Tuesday night when the police paid her a visit, she told the Today Show.

"I just want to tell Sandra," David told Ann Curry, "This is not over because everybody said on the news that I wasn't pressing charges, and I am."
The prosecutor's office has said they will not file charges because there was no criminal intent, but David says her babysitter should be punished.
"She sat there and watched him put my baby in a washer. So it was both of their fault," she said about her babysitter and her male friend. David explained that the video made her feel sick, sad and extremely angry. "I was, like, I know that ain't my child, oh, oh my god," she said describing her reaction to the video.
David reported that her child is safe and in good health except for a slight scratch to his head. "He's still talkative. And he's beautiful," she said. The babysitter initially told David that the baby had fallen down the stairs.
The baby's father is currently in prison, but has been informed about the incident and wants to press charges, Yahoo News reported.
The baby sitter told NBC news that the incident was an accident. She explained that her close male friend was just playing peek-a-boo and did not put him in the machine intentionally.
The Laundromat owner, Laurie Chhour, who put the video on YouTube, told WPVI that the man seemed very scared after the incident.
