Angelina Jolie is consistently a red carpet-favorite. The brunette beauty, known for her unparalleled good looks, certainly knows how to wow a crowd with her outfit choices.

However, on the 2012 Oscars red carpet, Jolie was seen making some peculiar poses that caught the attention of celebrity peers and Twitter fans alike.

Angelina Jolie wore a lush velvet Atelier Versace gown, Neil Lane jewelry, Salvatore Ferragamo peep toe shoes, and a Jaime Mascaro clutch.

What was most notable was the gown, with its deep noir hue and thigh-high split, and the way Jolie posed in it on the red carpet. The 36-year-old mother of six modeled for photographers on the red carpet purposefully jutting out her right leg. The sheer determination to show off that bare leg caught the attention of many, who thought Jolie looked vain and awkward.

Her leg quickly became a Twitter trend, with many poking fun at the actress' extreme measures of parading her flesh. In fact, the leg garnered so much attention that it now has its own Twitter account, @AngiesRightLeg, with more than 10,000 followers.

The Twitter handle has already been sending out hilarious tweets like "Look at me!" "Don't forget about me!" "Check out this leg over here," and "You have to admit I'm one hell of a leg."

"And the biggest star of #Oscars night? Angelina Jolie's right leg! #werq" tweeted E! News. "Angelina Jolie's right leg took home all the awards at the Oscar's last night," tweeted Matt Spears. "Angelina Jolie Really Wants You To See Her Leg" wrote The Superficial. "Angelina Jolie is an achingly beautiful woman but her pose at the #Oscars was all sorts of RIDICULOUS!" tweeted Elena Gorgan.

Jolie continued to exhibit the awkward while prestning the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. "The Descendants" writers Nat Faxon and Jim Rash (also known as Dean Pelton) were seen mimicking Angie's pose while accepting their award. "Did you catch The Descendants' Dean Pelton mocking Angelina Jolie's over-the-top posing at the #oscars?" tweeted Us Weekly.

However, backstage, the writers denied jabbing at the world famous actress.  "Angelina's supremely hot. There's no way to do anything but honor her," said Faxon.
