New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker has asked long-time girlfriend Anna Burns to marry him. As the Patriots prepare for the Super Bowl XLVI, fans celebrate the union of Welker with the gorgeous former Miss Hooters International 2005.

The couple has been together for over two years. They were first seen together publicly when the Patriots faced off against the Baltimore Ravens in the 2010 playoffs. Welker had suffered a season-ending knee injury earlier that month and the pair was seen watching the crucial game from a Gillette Stadium suite.

According to the Boston Herald, the couple has recently moved from Boston to the Foxboro suburbs with plans to settle down. Burns allegedly asked Welker for a Cartier love bracelet for Christmas. Instead, Welker offered her a diamond engagement ring and a lifetime of happiness.

Burns and Welker have been seen at the Miss Hooters International pageant in Florida, the Boston Herald reports. Burns won the Miss Hooters International competition in 2005 and brought home $30,000 in cash and other prizes.

Most recently, the attractive duo were seen at a fundraiser for Welker's foundation, Welker's 83 Foundation, which helps at-risk students and underprivileged schools get supplies and find positive role models in sports. The pair has also been spotted shopping at their local Whole Foods and at a function at Boston's Radius restaurant.

Southern belle, Anna Burns, from Fayetteville, N.C. was crowned Miss Hooters International 2005 after being elected by a panel of judges among 109 contestants from around the world. Anna brought home $30,000 in cash and other great prizes including a Kawasaki Jet Ski and a LG Plasma TV. She has since been on the cover of Hooters Magazine, the cover of the 2006 Hooters Calendar, featured on billboards and in national TV commercials.
