In sickness and in health. Mariah Carey tweeted early Wednesday morning that hubby Nick Cannon is in the hospital for "mild kidney failure" along with a photo of her by his side nursing him back to health while he recovers in Aspen.

"Please pray for Nick as he's fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure," Carey tweeted, adding the hash tag "#mybraveman." Carey, 41, and 31-year-old Cannon were visiting Aspen, Colo. for the holidays with their twins.

The tweet was accompanied by a photo of the couple while Cannon lays in bed snuggled next to Carey, feeding her husband a drink through a straw at a hospital in Aspen, Colo.

Carey also made a statement on her official Web sites, pointing out how the tables have turned, since she was the one ill last year after she suffered from edema giving birth to their twin son and daughter, Monroe and Moroccan.

"This is us in the hospital - role reversal; Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are," Carey wrote.

It is unclear how long Nick Cannon will be in the hospital for or what his condition is, but Mariah Carey noted he is recovering from a "serious" condition with high spirits.

"We're trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful," Carey continued. "They tried to kick me out of the hospital but here I am pon de bed with Mr. C.," she continued on. "We're doing OK but we're 'straaaaaanded in Aspen'. #DramaticDivaPlace (I know, we could be in a lot worse places) but the truth is as long as we're together, we're OK. I'm not trying to make light out of the situation because it's a serious moment that's very tough on all of us so please keep us and our family in your prayers."
