Lindsay Lohan might be in the headlines right now for her Marilyn Monroe-inspired "Playboy" spread, but it is her legal woes that have had her in the tabloids for years. 

Lohan, who was precious when she starred in the 1998 Disney film "The Parent Trap," turned over a rebellious leaf and has been attending legal proceedings since a 2007 arrest for a DUI.  

Of course, all eyes were fixed on Lohan as she walked to and from court appearances, in a plethora of different outfits - ranging from wildly inappropriate to noticeably demure. These fashions actually document Lohan's shift in mentality.

In July 2010, she arrived in court with the words "F--- you :)" written on her middle finger. But on Dec. 14, 2011, Lohan sashayed into court in a prim wool sweater, brown trousers and understated pumps. She was commended for her good behavior.  "Miss Lohan, you have actually done your work", said Judge Stephanie Sautner, adding, "And done it, not only on time, but early". 

The 25-year-old actress told Playboy that she has changed her wild ways. "Looking back, I probably would have listened to and taken more advice from the people whom I admire and would have followed through with it more," Lohan said.

"My stubbornness at 18 and 19-years-old got in the way," she said. "During the past five years, I've learned that time flies faster than you think, and because you only live once you have to learn from your mistakes, live your dreams and be accountable."

Although she is a gossip magazine-staple, Lohan claims to be boggled by the attention. 

"I have no idea why there is this fascination with everything I do," she said. "I suppose it is all part of this trend of people wanting to know every single detail of a celebrity's life.

"I mean, once we get to the point where magazines are doing pictorials on my wardrobe to court, that's just so unimportant," Lohan said.

But her courtroom wardrobe is important! Unbeknownst to Lohan, these styles have been coveted by many. 

Take the curve-hugging, white sweater dress by Kimberly Ovitz she wore in July 2010. The dress sold out at every single online shop that carried Ovitz's designs, according to an Ovitz spokeswoman, after Lohan was photographed wearing it. The dress, titled "Glavis," sold for $575 and was included in Ovitz's pre-Fall 2011 collection.

Let us take a look at Lindsay Lohan's courtroom ensembles, noting the transition from bad girl to woman-on-the-mend.

Later on that day, Lohan gets a new accessories - some silver handcuffs. Lindsay Lohan is handcuffed after a judge revoked her probation for failing to appear at a series of community service appointments at the Downtown Women's Shelter.

Scarves and sunglasses have been two key accessories for Lohan throughout her legal ordeal.

In one of her most popular (those not necessarily most appropriate) court outfit, Lohan wore a white, clingy Kimberly Ovitz sweater dress and oversize sunglasses. The dress then proceeded to sell out at every shop. She appears in court as she pleads not guilty to a grand theft charge of stealing a $2,500 necklace from a jewelry store, in Los Angeles February 9, 2011. Lohan looks like she could be going to a concert in this outfit a leather jacket, jeans and peep-toe booties is probably not the ideal court attire.
