Photos: Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway Step Out for 'Iron Lady' Premiere in NY [PHOTOS]

Meryl Streep looked lovely in navy blue at the New York premiere of her film "The Iron Lady."
The 62-year-old actress was joined by a slew of pals, including Patricia Clarkson, Ellen Barkin, Olivia Wilde and the newly-engaged Anne Hathaway.
Streep's family -- daughters Mamie, Grace and Louisa, and husband Don -- also showed up for the festivities, held at the Ziegfeld Theatre in Manhattan.
Streep's portrayal of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in "The Iron Lady" has been attracting plenty of buzz during early award season.
In November, Streep was named Best Actress by the New York Film Critics Circle. Streep is also nominated for the same category for the Satellite Awards, the Critics' Choice Awards and the SAG Awards, which were just announced on Wednesday.
"The Iron Lady," directed by Phyllida Lloyd ("Mamma Mia!") and also starring Jim Broadbent, documents Thatcher's days leading up to the Falklands War of 1982.
"With any character I play, where she is me is where I meet her. It's very easy to set people at arm's length and judge them . . . from the moment the day started until it was three, four in the morning, she just never, ever stopped, and she worked so hard and relentlessly to be able to be in that position where what she said was the course the nation took," Streep recently told Vogue.
"When I say that, I really mean it, because I work hard, I know what working hard is and I know what staying up late is, and you can do it for a certain time. But to do it for eleven years? And out of power, to keep on with it, into the sunset? Superhuman," she added.
