History's most celebrated fictional detective is back - this time to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of the Crown Prince of Austria.

Guy Ritchie's "Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows" had its European premiere in London Thursday night.  Along with Ritchie, his girlfriend Jacqui Ainsley and cast members Jude Law, Robert Downey Jr., Noomi Rapace and Jared Harris joined the red carpet event at Leicester Square.

"I wanted to make another one for all sorts of reason, but in no small part [it was] because of the chemistry between these two lads [Downey and Law]. That's the engine that drives the narrative. Plus, it's fun watching them," Ritchie told reporters at the event.

The movie is set to release on Dec. 16.
