Kate Middleton Might Start Solo Appearances Next Year [PHOTOS]
While the Duchess of Cambridge's influence is still strong, Kate Middleton will get to enjoy another year under the spotlight before she starts her solo appearances in the next year or two.
Unlike Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson who were instantly pressured to get involved with Royal duties, Kate Middleton will take pleasure in more quiet time with his husband, Prince William, in their palace in Kensington. Although Middleton has already gone on many public gatherings, galas, and charity events, she is yet to make an appearance all by herself.
A Royal aide mentioned in a report that once a woman has joined the royal family through marriage, she is supposed to wait for a minimum of three years before making public appearances on her own. Although this is the case, the aide added that it won't be long until Middleton starts to appear in charity events without the comfort of his husband.
"I don't think it's going to be as long as that (3 years), but I am just trying to put things in context. Historically, women joining the Royal Family do not begin undertaking solo engagements until around two years after their marriage," says the aide in the same report. The aide also explained that what happened to the late Princess Diana's instant exposure to the spotlight was not the "norm."
Although there is still no date when the Duchess of Cambridge will appear on solo, she and Prince William are confirmed to stay off the media's binoculars, especially with the current planning of Queen Elizabeth's 60-year reign celebration.
