The US government admits that they are concerned regarding Aussie's plan on introducing an obligatory internet filter.

The Australian federal government are planning to force the internet service providers (ISP) to block offensive internet materials which include child pornography and criminal activity instructions, from websites overseas.

Now, the government has been facing mounting pressure from internet groups and anti-censorship to drop the idea.

Even the US government has added its comments to those who were expressing concern regarding this issue.

A review in ABC news states that the US state department spokesman claimed that its officials have already brought up the issue with Australian officials but they would not comment on the kind of the concerns.

Google is also said to have expressed its concern regarding the plan.

A post published on Google Australia's official blog stated regarding the concern of the Government's plans to initiate an obligatory filtering regime for ISP in Australia, which is the first of its kind between Western democracies.

The main concern is about the wide scope of content that is to be filtered.

While Google admits that there should be some limits on the internet content, it also criticized the Australian government's approach of filtering as incompetent.
