Good Deeds, a Gold Coast mortgage manager, has committed itself to donating a portion of the trail on its loans to various charity organisations.
The seed of the idea was planted when founder Mike Astill was approached by a rugby league club in Queensland, with a large proportion of its membership base out of work, was unable to fund their league house.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association of Queensland, Paradise Kids, Burleigh Bears and Rugby Queensland have also signed up to the scheme.
Good Deeds offers a product through the Commonwealth Bank that guarantees a
discounted rate of up to 0.7% off the current standard variable home loan rate for the life on top of the 0.1% charity contributions. There are currently zero costs for this service: no cost to switch, no valuation fee, no broker fee and no bank charges apply.
Astill plans on bringing Good Deeds to NSW and Victoria next year.
