Country cutie Swift criticised by environmental agency

Teen sensation Taylor Swift, who is currently on tour in Australia, got into trouble with the government's environmental agency after she and her band fed wild possums.

Swift headed to a park in Melbourne after a sold-out concert in the city to feed the nocturnal creatures. She tweeted her experience, "Tonight the band and I played a show, then hopped in the van and headed to the park for some midnight wild possum feeding."

While the Grammy-winner should be applauded for her more noble actions, rather than partying it up at some night club like most young starlets, her recent move has upset the Australian wildlife authorities.

A spokesperson from the Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) said in a statement, "We know people who feed wild animals often have the best intentions and that it is attractive to tourists who want to interact with Australian wildlife. However, DSE advises people not to feed wild animals... it can disrupt their natural behaviour and it can cause some animals to lose their natural fear of people, making them vulnerable to attack."

Her trip to Australia, which is a part of her 'Fearless Tour', has been a huge success and even saw the singer shopping possibly for her new penthouse in Nashville, Tennessee. Some of the items the singer reportedly bought were two ancient Chinese birdcages and a lavish Indian silk cushion.
