New LSI SAS RAID Controllers Offer 6Gb/sec Performance

The new 3ware SAS 9750 cards deliver up to 2.5GB/sec in sequential read and 1.1GB/sec in sequential write performance, more than double the data transfer rates of the previous generation using the new existing 3Gb/s SATA and SAS infrastructure.

The low-profile controllers feature 512MB of DDR2/800 onboard cache memory, PCI Express 2.0 specification with x8 host interface, and support for up to 96 SATA or SAS hard drives or solid-state drives. StreamFusion and firmware allow the controllers to simultaneously sustain multiple streams for optimized reads and writes even under heavy data loads in applications such as video streaming.

The LSI SAS 9750-4i and 9750-8i are priced at US $389 and US $599 respectively.
