JavaOne conference open its 2009 annual convention in San Francisco with an opening of new Java App Store, a global marketplace for cutting-edge Java applications headed by Sun Microsystems.
President and CEO Jonathan Schwartz of Sun Microsystems introduce the new Java(SM) Store. "Java is one of the most ubiquitous and widespread technology platforms the world has ever seen – and its future has never been brighter," said Schwartz.
The new App store force will unlock the entrance for companies and developers to dispense content to Java desktop users worldwide, as well as key updates to its JavaFX(TM) and GlassFish(TM) Portfolio software.
Additionally, Sun also foretaste the impending versions of Java Platform Standard Edition 7 (Java SE 7) and Java Platform Enterprise Edition 6 (Java EE 6).
Schwartz also said that the presentation today especially for the Java Store will bring a starting point for a "new era for the Java community - one defined by technical brilliance, market innovation and new business opportunities."
