LONDON - It's a whodunit for the info age.
The animators behind Wallace & Gromit say they have quashed a pirated recording of a Christmas special leaked on YouTube.
But Aardman Animations, based in Bristol, England, said Thursday it had "no idea" how the material slipped out.
Three clips from "A Matter of Loaf and Death," were uploaded to the video-sharing site on Sunday. The special is scheduled to air on BBC television on Christmas Day.
The hugely popular clay animated series stars the cheese-loving, hair-brained inventor Wallace and his long-suffering pooch, Gromit.
A few audiences have seen preview screenings.
The YouTube version featured poor sound and may have been recorded using a video camera or mobile phone.
