US dollar mostly higher in Europe

LONDON - The U.S. dollar was mostly higher against other major currencies in European trading Monday morning. Gold fell.

The euro traded at $1.2680, down from $1.2797 late Friday in New York.

Other dollar rates:

_96.69 Japanese yen, down from 97.57

_1.1901 Swiss francs, up from 1.1852

_1.2258 Canadian dollars, up from 1.2186

The British pound was quoted at $1.4931, down from $1.4949.

Gold traded in London at $745.00 per troy ounce, down from $747.50 late Friday.
