GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - Palestinian officials say an Israeli airstrike has killed four militants.
The Israeli military confirms the airstrike but has given no details.
The militants were from a small Hamas-allied group known as the Popular Resistance Committees. A spokesman for the group who calls himself Abu Attaya says the four militants were firing mortars into Israel when they were killed.
The military says Palestinians launched two rockets earlier in the day into Israel. No one was hurt.
More than a week of violence has rocked a 5-month-old truce that is due to expire next month.
Israel has kept its crossings into Gaza shut because of ongoing rocket fire. That has barred badly needed goods and fuel from entering the impoverished territory.
