Victoria Beckham: The Fashion Icon [PHOTOS]
Since her pop singing days as "posh spice" in the hit UK girl group Spice Girls, Victoria Beckham had an elegant and refined flair that she continues to incorporate today.
When the "spice" in her nickname got cut after the group disbanded, "Posh" made sure to not let her fashion zing go away. Seen in some of the best ensembles that many Hollywood actresses copy, Victoria Beckham is a style icon that has a modern, classy, and cutting edge flair.
Wife to football superstar David Beckham, Posh is no beginner to high profile appearances where she is always photographed in her signature "arms-on-waist, left toe forward" pose; and top designers were quick to notice her unique sophistication and class. Designer Marc Jacobs was one of the first to make Beckham as his muse, making sure that Britain's most important style icon wears his best creations in important appearances. Aside from Marc Jacobs, Italian fashion mogul Roberto Cavalli also exclusively dressed Beckham for her appearances.
Because of her innate exquisite taste in fashion, she became the British ambassador to premiere Italian fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana in 2003. "She not only understands fashion and trends but has been a trend-setter and fashion icon for years." says "Rock and Republic" fashion designer Michael Ball when asked what he thought about Beckham's fashion sense.
After her successful music career, Beckham launched an empire out of her passion for fashion. In 2006, Beckham walked for a "Roberto Cavalli" Runway Show (video below), and launcher her own line of sunglasses called "dvb Eyewear" in the same year. Aside from these tremendous achievements, Beckham's biggest fashion-related citation is being named as "Woman of the Year" and "Entrepreneur of the Year" by the British "Glamour Awards" in 2007.
