The Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine, is the latest icon that got the entire fashion world on its feet, and now anyone can afford to look like her with these cheaper alternatives of her outfits.
Kate Middleton is not only known for smart coats, fascinator hats and classy dresses. The Duchess is also noted for her casual attires without looking plain or cheap. Noted designers seem to notice the exceptional style of the Duchess as well. "All the girls in their 20s are looking at her and thinking she is great, she is royal and she is not that stuffy" says Australian Jason Brunsdon in a report posted at the Herald Sun. "She looks really elegant, and she looks appropriate for her station, and she looks like she is loving her new royal role" added the designer.
"She does not look like she has tried too hard, she does not look like she is absolutely absorbed by fashion and yet she just looks so beautiful" claims Matthew Eager, another top designer in the same report.
Some of Kate's clothes and accessories cost a lot, but here are cheaper options so you can mimic the royal style of the Duchess:
Kate made had the entire fashion community talking when she showed up wearing a military-inspired Alexander McQueen coat. The estimated price of the designer item is $2,250 to $2,500 USD, a bit too steep for regular shoppers. For $100 Australian dollars, the equally stunning military coat from brand Dotti is a perfect substitute, as well as the $200 Bibba military jacket that has the same cut as the Duchess' coat. The cute clover brooch from crafts brand Arffire is the perfect accessory to top the military look.
Before the Royal Wedding, Kate loved to wear boots paired with skirts and blazers. Fans can mimic this look with the cheap $9.99 plaid skirt from Kensie.com. It looks similar to what Kate wore in the photo and it's one of the best buys any shopper can purchase. Pair the skirt with a simple black turtleneck and this blazer from Pray For Nature. These Cafe Noir boots are very affordable and can come in handy during harsh fall weather.
Kate is no stranger to the rainy London weather, that's why she loves to collect calf boots. Australian brand Ugg has a Highkoo boot for $200 that works great for this outfit. The fairly-priced dotted chiffon top from Yeestyle.com and Yelina wool blazer completes the look, and for just below $500, anyone can dress as pretty and chic as the Duchess.
Issa London is one of the Duchess' favorite designers, and this pink gala gown placed a star next to Kate's name in the fashion map. A much shorter and cheaper alternative to this dress is the Valerie satin dress sold at delias.com for only $20 USD. The $50 USD Zara assymetric court shoe is the perfect shoe to go with this dress, while the Jessica McClintock clutch makes a great accessory. Wear this outfit on prom, during balls, parties, or dressy occassions and truly feel like a princess.
