China is facing an obesity crisis of magnanimous proportions, an issue best underscored by Lu Zhihao, a 4-year-old from Foshan in Guangdong province who weighs 132 lbs and is 3 feet 7 inches tall.

Reuters reported that the uncommon size of the toddler was partially due to hormonal imbalance. However, the kid's constant demand for food is often met by his doting parents and visitors.

The kid's mother Chen Huan told Reuters: "He has difficulty moving up and down stairs. He needs help getting on the bus that takes him to the childcare center. It's also difficult to bathe him because of the rolls of fat."

The obesity explosion in China has been attributed to a combination of rising income and the one-child policy which results in a child becoming the center of attention for financially stable parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents.

BBC reported a similar case from China in 2010. It involved a 12-year-old kid Liu Tao who weighed 253 pounds which was 88 pounds above the children his age.

China suffers from the disease of the opulent with Chinese National Task Force on Childhood Obesity revealing that almost one in five children under seven are overweight in China, according to a 2008 estimate.
