The star-studded Christie's Green Auction: Bid to Save the Earth which took place at Rockefeller Center in New York on March 29, raised a staggering $1.4 million.

The event visited by some of the world's renowned international collectors, designers, philanthropists and celebrities witnessed bidders paying as high as $100,000 for a trip to the hottest Oscars parties or $3,000 for a Ralph Lauren's Paris experience.
Other auction lots included a date with teen heartthrob Justin Bieber, dinner for eight at the DC Home of Her Majesty Queen Noor, a tennis lesson with John McEnroe and an entry slot in the 2011 White House Golf Tournament among others.
Reuters quoted Christie's Chairman Ed Dolman saying that the funds will "support these venerable environmental organizations in conducting research and generating projects that will yield groundbreaking results for the present and future generations."

The proceeds from the auction will be used to fund some of the world's leading science based non-profits like Oceana, the Natural Resources Defense Council, Conservation International and the Central Park Conservancy.
The fantasy auction hosted by the auction house of Tuesday was in partnership with Vogue's Runway to Green and included a designer collection show sponsored by Tiffany & Co.
