The night was still young, but country stars didn't fail the audience as each arrived in standout gown or suit on the red carpet at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 6, 2014.
Kicking off the night were ACM Awards hosts Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton, followed by The Band Perry, who won the "Vocal Group of the Year" award, warming up the MGM Grand Garden Arena with their new single "Chainsaw."
The best moments of the evening where mostly of the great performances from the country stars, including Hunter Hayes emotional country music performance, and the speeches given by the winners, but Shelton and Blake could not be overlooked as they apparently made the evening a fun event with their jokes, even mentioning Britney Spears who lives in Las Vegas.
"If you don't like live music, then you better go down the block to see Britney Spears," said Shelton.
The 49th ACM Awards was a showcase of talents from the best country artists. Topping the list is Georgia Strait who won the "Entertainment of the Year" award, beating the Awards Night hosts Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton, and country artists Taylor Swift and Miranda Lambert.
"Wow... I always said I had the best fans in the world and I heard this was a fan-voted thing, so I rest my case," Georgia Strait said in his speech. "This is so amazing. This has been an amazing past 30 years."
Taylor Swift, despite losing some of her nominations, still got her name on the list when Tim McGraw got the "Video of the Year" award featuring Keith Urban and Swift for "Highway Don't Care." Miranda Lambert, on the other hand, grabbed most of the awards with three wins including "Female Vocalist of the Year," "Single Record of the Year" and "Vocal Event of the Year" with Keith Urban for "We Were Us."
Florida Georgia Line snagged the "Vocal Duo of the Year," while Justin Moore beat Kip Moore and Brett Eldredge for the "New Artist of the Year" award.
